I slumped back on the hill
The air was chill, and there was little light
The clouds hung over the land; a shroud
To hide what lay beneath?
I watched as the horizon caught fire; and burned
With a greedy flame
The bloated sun rose, wrapped in fog
It offended my eyes with its colour
It burned brighter as it rose
And the wind moaned, as the clouds parted the sky
I watched them
And as I lay upon the grass' slick spears
Then,
My soul became ash.
Thy yellow face
Thy dusky eyes
Enchanting art!
Thy jagged tail
Thy skipping gait
(Oh wonderful!)
My heart inflate!
Oh lightning mouse
Thy endless joy
Doth warm my heart!
Again
Rejection claws me in the face
Again.
I find it hard to catch my breath
Again.
I can't look at her, avoid those eyes
Again.
Why does this keep happening
Again.
Why do I always fall
Only for those who don't care for me?
Card returned, with repulsion
"Leave me alone," she says.
Once again I die the death
Don't have the tears, my eyes are dry
Hands shaking, heart torn
Rejection claws me in the face
Again.
