Although I was born in Syndey, I have lived in New Zealand since I was three. For the early part of my life, I lived in Dunedin, where I sang in St Paul's Cathedral from the age of 6 until 29.
I moved to Hamilton, where I met Robin Jean, my wife of 38 years.
Now I live in Auckland; about 30 minutes north of the city, overlooking the Kaipara River Valley. I sang in the Auckland cathedral choir for nearly 19 years.
I started and managed my own business in the food industry. The business was sold some 15 years ago.
I have two grown sons, and two grandsons, aged 11 and 8.
I like to travel and I am interested in Scottish Heraldry, in particular Clan Buchanan heraldry (see www.esd.co.nz/buchanan). I was recently elected a Fellow of the Society of Scottish Antiquaries; a great honour.
